MEDCA promotes and provides media & entertainment and information technology professionals fundamental awareness, guidance, and education, concentrating on the foundational physical infrastructure of M&E data processing and storage operations. Data-centric processes and equipment drive nearly every aspect of M&E, through pre-visualization, production, and post.

As we build the necessary infrastructure which carries assets from virtual production through to streaming delivery, MEDCA looks to recognize existing industry standards and adapt them to our industry. The iterative standards and infrastructure framework of associations in the OSI, cloud and telcomm space will be organized into our own M&E industry best practices to address:

• Scalability
• Reliability (on-set and industry scale)
• Long-term evolution(interoperable and flexible)
• Security, risk, and liability
• Efficiencies (TCO, ROI, etc.)

MEDCA is an M&E community service, the goal of which is to encourage and educate M&E to adopt data-centric infrastructure standards capable of not only withstanding the exponential growth of data processing demands, but thrive within it.

MEDCA is a new industry association, operating as a non-profit corporation led by a Board of Directors composed of both key IT/big tech/telecommunication service and product providers as well as production/post production service and product professionals, the MEDCA is managed through MESA
