The Metaverse and Virtual Production: MESA Launches New ‘MVP’ Newsletter

Today MESA debuts its new newsletter “MVP” (Metaverse & Virtual Production), a new source for the latest industry insights, technologies and opinions around emerging platforms and virtual-centric opportunities for players across the media and entertainment industry.

Every Thursday MVP will cover everything about media and entertainment’s place in the emerging world of the metaverse, including the implications around content creation, interoperability, reaching audiences, compiling data, and the content protection and security issues that may be on the horizon.

And for virtual productions, MVP will inform readers about the technologies, successes and pain points occurring around meeting the scale, speed, cloud demands needed to realize all the promise virtual productions offer.

“As our industry continues to embrace the workflows and technologies that are commonplace in the video games industry, MESA is proud to be at the forefront of how traditional studios integrate these emerging product ecosystems,” said Guy Finley, MESA president and CEO. “The IT/security infrastructure necessary to operate these advanced systems at maximum throughput as well as the massive amount of data generated from these new ‘worlds’ into the enterprise. MVP will be a resource as the explosion of global content creation continues at an accelerated pace.”

MVP’s news will be hosted by the Media & Entertainment Data Center Alliance (MEDCA), a nonprofit M&E community service whose mission is to provide continuing education, information and best practices to develop a good foundation for the explosive growth in M&E data-centric processes, today and beyond.
